If I Write It…

If I write it, they will read it. At least that is what has happened in the past year. I never got blogger’s burnout. I never had writer’s block yet. Maybe because Copher’s Community has so much excitement going on each day of the week.

Well, the time has to come for us to say goodbye. Not forever but for at least a week. Tomorrow my focus goes back on teaching. But does that mean I am no longer a mom? An autism advocate? A blogger? A Rodan + Fields Consultant? Of course not. I am still all of those things. My goal is to balance all of them. Don’t dare me, because I will prove you wrong.

If I learned anything this summer. I learned that my life matters. I deserve to be happy. I am the same Brooke Copher, with a brand new smile. There are many reasons behind my smile.

I have shared my diary with you, parts of my memoir and the life of an autism family. But what you all have shared with me has been much more. You shared your comments, love, support and encouragement.

A Woman’s Work will continue. The blogs may not come every day. They may be a lot shorter. My purpose for blogging and motivating others is more than I could have ever imagined. In order to do what God has placed on my heart. I must find the balance to keep blogging. Maybe even for my own sanity. Will you stay along for the ride? Or will you abandon the ship? Do what is best for you.  I’ve got thick skin. It takes a lot to offend me. I will respect your decision.

Let me leave you with a Copher’s Community Update: Harrison will start high school. He is applying to be a volunteer to help at community events with the Odessa Volunteer Fire Department. Sydney will start 8th grade. Her goal is to be in a school play. They saw their dad yesterday. Bless his heart. I am at such a great place in life right now. That I had no problem taking the kids to see him.

It is time for a new school year and fresh beginnings. This summer taught me to enjoy the little things. Don’t take people or situations for granted. And that I need to lose some weight!!!!!!  Just keeping it real!

Finally, how many dates do have to go on before you are “offically dating”? Just asking for a friend.

Love,
Brooke

  1. Mrs. Copher, (I know I could call you Brooke now, but Mrs. Copher still feels right 🙂 )

You and your family have been such an inspiration to me and I’m so glad I found you on Facebook! It feels like things have been coming full circle in my life and you have been apart of that. You’ve been inspiring me in ways since I was 8 or 9 that I completely forgot about and that is pretty amazing to me. You are such an inspirational mom, woman and advocate to me and I’m very appreciative of that.

I’ve finally started writing again and focusing on my artistic, creative side and I wanted to thank you for doing what you’re doing with this blog. Keep doing you and good things will happen. Your kids seem like amazing children and I hope to one day be as strong of a mother as you are. I’m hopeful we will one day run into each other again, but I will continue to follow your blog and life on Facebook until then 🙂 enjoy the new school year!!

    1. Rachel,

I don’t even know where to begin. Your letter touched my heart more than you know. On a day when I was questioning myself about so many areas in my life.

I am so proud of the woman that you have become. Just continue to enjoy life and follow your passions. God will align everything for you. You are and were such a smart and respectful kid!!! That’s still how I remember you. 😉

Thanks for taking time to comment. Next trip home I definitely want to see you so you can meet the kids. But until then search your soul and share your creativity with the world! Love you much! Say hello to the family for me.

      Brooke
