We are probably all guilty of thinking of Veterans Day as just a day off from school or work. Today I will reflect about the true meaning of this important day. It is to acknowledge the men and women who have served in our armed forces.
Let’s not stop at just thinking of veterans on November 11th. Send cards or letters to local veterans, make and send care packages to a Veteran Hospital, or help a disabled veteran in your neighborhood.
I am thankful to all of the soldiers that are still alive today who served our country during peace or war-time. To my family members that served during war, I thank you for making that sacrifice for our country.
My mission is to continue to show my gratitude to the brave women and men that protect our country and to teach my children to do the same. Yesterday at school we had Red, White and Blue spirit day. A simple gesture lead to great conversations about the importance of Veterans Day.
However you decide to spend your day today. Continue to pray for peace and protection for veterans and the armed forces.
How will you thank a veteran today?
