Giving Thanks

Before we could eat dinner we went around the table to tell what we were thankful for, this wasn’t even Thanksgiving Day, this was every time that we had dinner. In the beginning Harrison was long winded and Sydney would scream and just start eating. I was determined to continue our tradition going and we never ran out of things to share. I remember the day years ago when Harrison said he was thankful for the man that made the ketchup we were using at dinner. So simple but he was very serious. I remember the first time Sydney told us what she was thankful for, that was a special moment for all of us.

I’m thankful for all of it. The days that I feel crappy but still have breath in my body. I’m thankful for the challenges in my life because without them I may not have developed my relationship with God. When I can offer to help someone, it blesses me and reminds me to choose love and kindness.

I’m thankful for sarcasm and control of my tongue sometimes. I’m thankful for my work tribe, especially my partner in crime Dayna and my work brother, Greg who helped me out this week.

We don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving week to enter into a spirit of “thanksgiving”, we should do that each day that we have an opportunity. While you can still tell those around you how thankful you are to have them in your life, you should do that daily not once a year.

I’m thankful for all of you.

❤️
