I want it and I want it now! Do I sound like a toddler? I actually sound like some adults. Me included at times. When I was younger. I was not good at waiting for what I wanted. I was always in such a rush.
As I matured, I’ve accepted that needed wait time. And I also see the value in waiting. The desires of my heart are for things that will last a lifetime. I will practice patience and wait my turn.
Well, what am I supposed to do in the meantime? Instead of complaining. I should be preparing. Preparing for the blessings that are coming my way. I should make sure that I am praying and asking God to guide my every step.
So stop rushing and living on a timeline. I need to be married by this age, first baby by this age, house and dog by….. You will drive yourself crazy and everyone around you. There isn’t an expectation that you must have something completed by a certain age.
You are not a failure if you are still searching for your dream job. Or waiting for the person that you will spend the rest of your life with. I’ve learned to go at my own pace. I wasn’t expecting infertility and four years of waiting before Harrison was born. Instead I had to adjust my thinking and let things happen at their own speed.
So, today enjoy today. Don’t focus on what you haven’t done. Focus on your accomplishments and keep moving forward. Believe in yourself.
Love,
Brooke
