It was hard to do. I had to use a word that makes me feel uncomfortable. I had to tell someone No! And I had to tell them no more than once because they didn’t believe me the first time I said it.
Saying no was so empowering. I felt like a three year old ready to have a protest in public by reciting the word no, over and over again.
If it drains my energy I have to say no! I didn’t realize the importance of this until I saw that my personal sanity was in jeopardy.
I think I drank the kool-aid and was convinced that my answer always had to be yes. I think when you say no in a soft, whisper tone it’s much more powerful then if you are screaming it from the top of your lungs.
Saying no doesn’t make you a bad person it means you are wise and value yourself and your sanity.
Are you afraid to say no?
